Marketing Committee — Operations & Reddit Contributor Pilot

Summary

The Marketing Committee requests 6,800 USDT + 50,000 GNK to support the Committee’s work for August–October 2026 and to run a separate two-month Reddit Contributor Pilot.

The Committee operates as an independent contributor team from the Gonka community. We review marketing materials and contractor deliverables, follow up on already funded initiatives, collect and consolidate community feedback, and participate in the review of new marketing proposals.

This proposal introduces compensation for the Committee’s ongoing operational work and for a separate Reddit pilot.

Since August 1, 2026, the Committee has been working in an updated composition. The current team and core documents are available in the Committee GitHub.

Why the Committee exists

Several marketing contractors and initiatives are currently active in Gonka. At the time these materials were prepared, TheSoul, Input and ICG represented a combined 225,000 USDT + 128,000 GNK in active funded work.

Projects of this scale require regular follow-up: reviewing intermediate deliverables, checking alignment with approved scope, providing contractors with Gonka context, and consolidating feedback from the community.

The process involves contractors, hosts, technical and marketing contributors, and other network participants. The Committee helps collect feedback in one place, review deliverables, and return consolidated comments to contractors.

The Marketing Committee is not a governance body and is not a mandatory gatekeeper for marketing proposals. Its role is review, coordination, verification and follow-up.

Work completed and ongoing

In August, the Committee focused on reviewing contractor deliverables, following up on already funded initiatives, and reviewing new proposals.

The Committee completed a detailed review of TheSoul’s Positioning and Brandbook deliverables and prepared 49 specific comments and recommendations — 30 on Positioning and 19 on the Brandbook. The review also identified at least 6 elements from the approved Brandbook scope that were missing or incomplete.

The Committee also participated in weekly working calls with Input, covering ongoing PR work, the quality and relevance of proposed media outlets, publication results, and current Gonka context.

The Committee also reviewed two versions of the Omniverse Fest proposal for 20,000 USDT, including organizer verification and a request for a lighter participation option. After discussion, the original format was not pursued.

Work continued in September. At the time of preparing this proposal, the Committee has already:

  • prepared feedback on the wireframes for the new Gonka website;
  • reviewed the communication channels map;
  • continued follow-up on current TheSoul and Input workstreams;
  • continued monitoring other active marketing initiatives.

These results will be included in a separate September report after the end of the month.

Work plan

The Committee plans to:

  • continue following up on active marketing projects;
  • expand monitoring to other initiatives with commitments to the community;
  • track progress, deliverables, and alignment with approved scope and KPIs where they are defined;
  • collect and consolidate feedback from hosts and other network participants;
  • provide structured feedback to contractors;
  • review new marketing proposals when needed;
  • publish regular updates on Committee work and the status of major initiatives.

When useful, the Committee may also organize open AMAs or status sessions on current marketing proposals.

Reddit Contributor Pilot

Reddit remains one of the platforms where Gonka’s presence is relatively limited. Instead of immediately moving into active promotion in external subreddits, we propose running a two-month pilot to test what kind of approach can work for Gonka.

The pilot will run for two months from its actual launch and is not tied to specific calendar months. The start date will be determined after the proposal is approved and participants are ready.

The pilot will include:

  • launching and developing r/GonkaHub;
  • involving community members who are interested in Reddit;
  • helping them become familiar with the platform and build a genuine activity history;
  • identifying relevant communities around AI, decentralized AI, inference, infrastructure, and related topics;
  • testing topics and participation formats without spam or direct promotion of Gonka.

Arseny Myakotnikov has preliminarily agreed to coordinate the pilot: helping participants navigate Reddit, identify relevant communities, and organize the work of the pilot.

The pilot depends on active participation from contributors, not only on the work of the coordinator. A separate 20,000 GNK allocation is reserved to support the pilot and reward participants in the Reddit pilot for activities completed under the program rules during the two-month pilot.

Distribution will depend on actual participation and contribution during the pilot.

The Reddit Pilot Coordinator is a separate temporary role and is not included in the base compensation of Marketing Committee members.

At the end of the two-month period, the Committee will review participant activity, the development of r/GonkaHub, and available Gonka Pulse data, and prepare conclusions on whether the initiative should be continued or scaled.

The pilot does not imply automatic continuation after the end of the two-month period.

Budget

Base compensation for a Marketing Committee member is 300 USDT per active month.

The Committee currently consists of six members. Compensation for their work for August–October is:

6 members × 300 USDT × 3 months = 5,400 USDT.

Coordination of the Reddit Contributor Pilot is compensated separately:

600 USDT per month × 2 months = 1,200 USDT.

Because the pilot is not tied to calendar months, these two months begin from the actual launch of the pilot.

An additional 200 USDT is allocated for proposal preparation and administration.

The proposal also requests 50,000 GNK:

  • 30,000 GNK to compensate additional workload beyond what is normally covered by the base compensation for Marketing Committee core activities;
  • 20,000 GNK to reward participants in the Reddit pilot for activities completed under the program rules.

Distribution will reflect actual workload and contribution for Committee work, and actual participation and contribution within the Reddit pilot.

Any funds not used within this proposal may be used for future Marketing Committee activities within its current scope. Their use will be reflected in public reporting.

Reporting

The Committee will publish short public updates on its work.

These updates will cover the main initiatives being followed, completed reviews, major issues and recommendations, and progress on additional workstreams.

A separate final update with results and conclusions will be published after the Reddit Contributor Pilot.

More detailed materials and reports will be published in the Committee GitHub where possible.

Expected results

By the end of the funded work, we expect:

  • more systematic follow-up on active marketing initiatives;
  • regular review of contractor deliverables and commitments;
  • faster collection and consolidation of community feedback;
  • public updates on Committee work;
  • a group of contributors actively participating in the Reddit pilot, results from the two-month test period, and enough data to assess whether the initiative should continue;
  • a clearer understanding of which elements of the Marketing Committee model should be kept or changed going forward.

Requested vote

A YES vote means that the Gonka community:

  1. Approves 6,800 USDT + 50,000 GNK in funding for the Marketing Committee operations and the Reddit Contributor Pilot described in this proposal.
  2. Approves compensation for Marketing Committee work for August–October 2026.
  3. Approves the two-month Reddit Contributor Pilot, including coordinator compensation and the contributor allocation described above.
  4. Acknowledges that any unused funds may be used for future Marketing Committee activities within its current scope and will be reflected in public reporting.

A NO vote rejects this funding request.
